Finding Your Authentic Self After A Divorce or Breakup

Updated: Jul 19

Feeling Lost

In the immediate aftermath of my divorce, my life was blown up into fragments. I lost my best friend, confidante, my dreams of a partner and a family, and most of all, I lost myself. The mornings were the hardest. I would wake up with stifling anxiety and feeling like I was stuck in a fog. My saving grace was my loving fur buddy, Enzo, who would take me on walks to the ocean and through the park where the fog slowly started to lift.  With every day, I gained strength and courage. I created a list of goals of what I wanted my life to look like.

My Awakening

My network of friends and support system started to blossom. I leaned heavily on my beautiful friends. In the first year, the sadness was the heaviest and I was scared of an uncertain future. It seemed as if I was calling my friend Mandi daily, crying and confused, I asked her in desperation when it would end. In her wise and steady voice, she told me one day I will wake up and everything will be okay. That day finally came.  I woke up with hope in my heart and started to believe in myself again. I took responsibility for my part in the breakdown of the relationship and forgave myself. My heart grew stronger and it started filling with the possibilities of a life that inspired me. I was reading books from authors, Debbie Ford and Katherine Woodward Thomas. I started working with various life coaches which began to propel me towards finding my true self and superpowers.

Looking for Signs

My journey was about coming home to my authentic self and finding my place in the world. I started to look at ways to help feed my spirit and created lists of intentions. When creating intentions, it is important that you commit to them because they inform our actions and choices. When I started to create my intentions, my life’s purpose appeared to me through the people I met, everyday interactions, signs, and the pull of my heart. The universe started to weave together these synchronicities which created a road map toward becoming a life coach and empowering women in navigating major life transitions.

Coming Home

There are no coincidences in life. I truly believe that all my life’s experiences served a purpose in helping me find my authentic self. Our greatest transformation happens in the presence of our greatest loss. It is in what I lost that I can stand in the power of who I am. Now I wake up everyday believing with all my heart and spirit that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. As your life coach, I can help move you through the grief of your divorce or breakup by creating a plan to generate self-love, finding your inner passion, and cultivating your north star. My work with you will guide you to unlocking your dreams and setting a clear direction of a life path that you deserve.
