Hello

Hi! My name is Michelle Dowds and I am a master certified professional life coach with a Masters in Social Work and a Bachelors in Psychology.  Through my one-on-one coaching, women's circle, writing, and personal and professional experience, I empower women to navigate through relationships and life transitions by confronting fears, increasing self-esteem, leading with vulnerability, and strengthening communication skills.

My Journey:

Even at a young age, I knew I would one day work to help others. Girlfriends sought my counsel as they struggled with relationships and emotional turbulence. I have always had an innate ability to hold space for people and listen with compassion. This skill led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology and work with homeless families and youth. I obtained my Masters in Social Work with a focus on healthcare, aging, and relationship dynamics.

Even though I experienced great satisfaction and made great strides in my Social Work career, I believed I had much more potential to make a difference in people’s lives.  I soaked up teachings around personal growth, spirituality and positive energy.  I slowly started to create a new narrative about myself, my life, and my future. From these learnings, I now feel empowered to work with you to find your improved and authentic narrative about your life and future self.

My values have served a purpose in creating a life of integrity that guides me in the work I will do with you.

My Values:

Authenticity: By committing to our own values, beliefs, and sense of self, we accept who we are and acknowledge what we do best.  When we find our superpowers, we beam from our authentic self and life begins to flow.

Connection: As humans, we thrive best when we are in a community of friends, our chosen family, and liked- minded souls. Our heart expands and fills with an abundance of energy which pulls us toward our passions and desires. Our dreams are endless with the support of a strong and dependable tribe of confidantes, friends, and spiritual warriors.

Power: Our power is rooted in the deepest part of our core. It is our intuition that alerts us to when something feels wrong and when something feels exactly right.  When we show up from our authentic self, our power is ignited.  Our ability to communicate effectively, address fears, and set boundaries start to emerge.

My values are also rooted in my commitment to giving back to my community through various volunteer positions I feel passionate about.  I serve as a writing tutor with 826 Valencia at Mission High School in San Francisco. I also work in a youth prevention program educating young women on healthy relationships and self esteem.

My Gratitude:

You will often find me walking my loyal fur companion, Enzo, riding my bike through Golden Gate park in San Francisco, chasing sunsets at Ocean beach, and practicing yoga with my favorite teachers @yogabeachsf. Lastly, I have a heartfelt appreciation to my network of beautiful female and male souls who have supported me through my spiritual and career journey.
